Our company was involved in Livestock export since 1970. The Livestock export included sheep, goats, and Camels. During 1970s the main markets for the Livestock was Jeddah (KSA) and Aden (Yemen).

Consequently in 1984 the company extended its activities in all the regions of the farmer Somalia in purchasing the Livestock and exporting them from the ports of Heis and Maid and rarely from Berbera.

In fact, Livestock export from Berbera port was not encouraged by the socialist Somali Government due to some political factors.

Luckily, as soon as Somaliland became a separate state in 1991 and the country achieved it s freedom the company was able to carry out its activities in Livestock export systematically and in well programmed manner and the livestock export was in full swing.

As such the company has set a network of sites in purchasing the livestock and forwarding them to Berbera for export.

The following were the sites from which the livestock purchases was going on :
1. Hargiesa for the  N. Western regions
2. Burao  for Togdeer Region
3. Galkayo for Muddling region
4. Eerigavo for Sanag Region
5. Beletwayne for Hiran Region
6. Lasanood for Sool Region

The monthly figures for export per month were as bellow:
140,000 Heads of sheep and goats per month.
 12, 000 Heads of the Comal per month.
Our motto is to promote the export of livestock to increase the income sources of the community and create employment chances for the community members.

On the whole, since 90 % of the Somaliland people economy is based on Livestock, Livestock export is the key element for upgrading the income sources of the community members.

As such the per capita income of the Somaliland could only be improved through Livestock exports
